In late 2021 and early 2022, Jessica was one of the editors for the critically-acclaimed documentary series Black History, Black Freeedom, and Black Love for MasterClass.
Black History, Black Freedom, and Black Love covers over 400 years of American history within its 54 lessons and 10-plus hours. It contextualizes thoughts of race and racism, discusses gaps in traditional education in U.S. history, and challenges these obstacles while offering tools and techniques to empower change in our own lives. This groundbreaking course is taught by notable Black intellectuals including Jelani Cobb, Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw, Angela Davis, Sherrilyn Ifill, Nikole Hannah-Jones, John McWhorter, and Cornel West. This series was available for streaming on Amazon Prime and IMDBtv during February 2022, in addition to its wide audience on the MasterClass platform.
